A truly holistic program

What is New Wave Recovery Center?

We are a Massachusetts drug and alcohol rehab on the North Shore, and we are a little different by design. New Wave was founded by a family of people in long-term recovery who wanted to build the program they wished they had: warm, calm, and genuinely holistic, created by people in recovery, for people in recovery.

We provide outpatient addiction treatment, which means you get real clinical care while staying connected to your home, your family, and your life. Our team treats the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, weaving holistic healing between the clinical groups every single day so recovery feels supportive instead of exhausting. Evidence-based therapy and holistic care work together here, not in competition.

When you call New Wave, you talk to someone in recovery, not a call center, because the people who built this program have walked the path you are starting.

Real holistic care

Holistic care, every day.

Most programs offer a holistic session once in a while. We offer it every day. Reiki, sound bowls and sound baths, recovery yoga, and mindfulness are woven into the schedule alongside CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, because healing happens when you treat the whole person.

Frequency & vibration

Sound bowls, shamanic drums & sound baths, creating new neuropathways.

The difference

Every day.

Not once a month. Holistic work is built into the schedule, woven between clinical groups.

We do what we say we’re going to do.

Lived experience

Owners are the practitioners

The work happens on big leather couches in a homey space, not in a circle of sterile chairs. This is people in recovery helping people in recovery.

Why New Wave

What Makes New Wave Different From Other Massachusetts Rehabs?

Most programs offer a holistic session once in a while. We offer it every day. Reiki, sound bowls and sound baths, recovery yoga, and mindfulness are woven into the schedule alongside CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, because healing happens when you treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Holistic, every single day

Holistic healing is woven between the clinical groups daily, so recovery never becomes a grind.

One therapist, every level

You see the same private therapist as you move between levels of care, so you never start your story over.

Family-owned by people in recovery

The people who built this place are often the same people you will meet in the room. You become part of the family.

New Wave walks with you on the pathway back to life, and back to yourself.

Putting the pieces back together · Mind, body, spirit

A retreat near the beach

A warm, homey space to heal, minutes from the beach

Homey, cozy, and deliberately not clinical: big leather couches instead of sterile chairs, bright hallways, and a window in every office. We’re about ten minutes from the beach, so the days carry a retreat-and-vacation feel: nature hikes, beach walks, and fresh air. Because sometimes you don’t need another room. You need to remember what a walk on the beach feels like.

From the first phone call I felt like a person, not a number. Talking to someone who had been through it themselves made all the difference.

The holistic side is real, not just a buzzword. The Reiki and yoga alongside real therapy helped me in ways I did not expect.

Holistic healing, clinical expertise

Two halves of one approach

Holistic care without clinical rigor is just comfort, and clinical care without holistic support can feel cold. At New Wave, the two are inseparable. Licensed clinicians deliver proven, evidence-based therapy, held inside a daily rhythm of holistic healing that calms the nervous system and reconnects you with yourself.

Clinical expertise

Evidence-based therapy

Our foundation is built on therapies with real research behind them, led by licensed clinicians and a medical team, so your care is grounded in what actually works.

Holistic healing

Whole-person care, daily

Every day, holistic practices are woven between the clinical groups to soothe the body, quiet the mind, and make the deeper work possible, not just an occasional extra.

Together they treat the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Conditions we treat

Specialized support for what you're really facing

Addiction rarely travels alone. We treat substance use and the mental health conditions that so often come with it, with care plans built around your whole story, not a single label.

Alcohol Addiction

Compassionate, structured support for alcohol use disorder.

Drug Addiction

Treatment for dependence on a range of substances.

Opioid Addiction

Focused care for opioid use disorder and recovery.

Prescription Drugs

Help when prescribed medication has become dependence.

Stimulant Addiction

Support for cocaine, meth, and other stimulant use.

Co-Occurring Mental Health

Anxiety, depression, and trauma treated alongside addiction.

Levels of care

Care that steps down with you

A full continuum of care. Most clients move through up to nine months across all levels as they rebuild.
